On November 20th 2025, the FHS Choir department hosted the Grateful to Gather concert. This event was in collaboration with numerous musical groups in the community to promote the importance of unity. The department collaborated with choirs from West Woods Upper Elementary School, Irving A. Robbins Middle School and singers from Chorus Angelicus, a Farmington-based community children’s choir.
Choir Director Louise Carrozza works with different choir groups at FHS, helping students hone their singing skills. All choir students were invited to participate in this event. Students from the Madrigal singers, Chamber singers, Advanced Treble Chorale, and more were present.
“We’re trying to bring singers together from the broader Farmington community that also spans different ages,” shared Carrozza, ”My favorite part of the event is to get students from other buildings together to get excited about singing.”
Before the day of their performance, the choirs had practiced within their own groups. The choirs had one hour to practice together before their performance. This was no easy feat, but with the assistance of directors from around the district paired with the determination of the singers, the group pulled off an amazing performance.
Junior Khamannie Saint-Juste is a member of Chamber Singers who attended the Grateful to Gather concert for the first time this school year.
“I enjoyed singing with the kids and was very impressed with their performance. It was great connecting with the younger kids who are a part of choir programs at the other schools,” said Saint-Juste.
Grateful to Gather is only one of the ways the FHS Music department gets involved in the community. Throughout the year, the department hosts a multitude of concerts and events to promote coming together. Be on the lookout for the next one!
