Seniors react to finishing college apps

Hanny Wolkoff, Editor-in-Chief

How did you prepare for application season?

I started early in the summer to get a headstart. I had my CommonApp college essay done by the end of the summer. This made the applications less stressful because a major part of it was done – Sarah Hennig.

What was the most challenging part of the application process?

The most challenging thing for me was keeping track of all of the moving parts, especially if the applications weren’t on the CommonApp. I found that keeping a checklist for each school helped me stay on top of the materials required for each school – Mitch Guglielmo

The hardest part for me was the essay. There’s so much time that goes into it to make sure that it’s meaningful to you and shows your personal growth. Colleges want you to be emulated through your essay and it took a lot of revising and a lot of editing to finally get a product that I was happy with – Anna Mihalek

What is the best part about being finished with college applications?

Now that my applications are done, the workload of my other classes doesn’t seem as overwhelming. I can relax for the majority of the rest of the year – TJ Erickson.

What advice would you give next year’s seniors when they begin their applications?

Girl: Especially if you play a fall sport, I would start the essay as early as possible. The CommonApp opens August 1st, take advantage of the extra month off of school and get as much of the information filled out as possible – Gill Fulton.
