On March 31, 2025, the Farmington High School (FHS) National Honors Society partnered with the American Red Cross Club and the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at FHS.
Blood drives help get blood to patients who may need it for life saving procedures. There is a constant need for it, as it can be used in a multitude of treatments. The supply of blood relies solely on donations.
Students and staff who are 17 years old or older had the option to donate blood through the American Red Cross at the blood drive hosted in the Black Box Theatre.
“This initiative is an impactful way to unite students and staff and provides a tangible way to make a real difference in the lives of others,” shared Ananya Pagadala, American Red Cross Club president.
While this was a one day event, the American Red Cross Club has hosted this drive for several years and intends to host it for many more.
The National Honor Society is a service-oriented club and aims to host various volunteer events throughout the year. In addition to the joint-blood drive with the American Red Cross Club, they also sponsor other charity events such as volunteer gift wrapping during the holiday season and a flower sale for Valentine’s Day.
If you’re looking for more ways to get involved with either of the clubs, see one of the flyers around the building or contact Ms. Mathias or Ms. Stokoe for more information.
