Seniors Kyle Wogelius and Jaden Drozd along with junior Gabe Gantkin have developed a new band named Come To Terms. The band consists of Wogelius playing the bass guitar, Drozd playing the drums, and Gantkin playing the electric guitar as well as singing.

The members of Come To Terms met in middle school band practice where they began to mesh their musical talent.

“The three of us met at Irving A. Robbins (IAR) jazz band meetings on Mondays after school and have since continued to play with each other in the high school jazz band for the last four years,” Come To Terms said.

From a young age, Wogelius, Drozd, and Gantkin played instruments and had a large involvement with music. When meshing their musical abilities, the three have found a new passion for creating music.

“We have all played instruments for the majority of our lives, and every once in a while we would get together and play cover songs casually in Jaden’s basement. After a couple of get togethers doing that, Gabe brought forward some original ideas he had written. We decided to work with what he had written, and haven’t stopped since,” Come To Terms said.

Originally covering songs, the band is now focusing on creating their own original content. Come To Terms has performed at the high school’s Senior Cafe, as well at the senior homecoming hallway and the Lit Fest songwriting workshop.

The band most recently performed at the talent show on November 22, performing two original songs. Come To Terms won the talent show, and find it to be just the beginning for their live shows and performing careers.

“We want to play as many shows as possible and expose our musical talents to as wide a crowd as we can.We started the band for fun, but after having auditioned for the school talent show, along with the aforementioned performances, we all agreed to take our roles in the band seriously,” ComeTo Terms said.

In the coming months, Come To Terms plans to perform shows in available locations such as Blueback Square in West Hartford, Connecticut. The band is working on a new extended play that will be released in the near future.
