What made you want to become a teacher?
I actually went to college for exercise science (physical therapy), but then I worked a camp during the summer and realized I wanted to work with kids.
What is your favorite part about being a teacher here?
It’s been my only job, so I can’t compare it to anywhere else, but I can’t imagine having a group of teachers that work together better than the Wellness Department, it reminds me of being on a team.
What college did you go to?
University of South Carolina
If you could be anything other than a teacher, what would you be?
So I took all of the Architecture courses at Newington High and the new at the time CADD (Computer Aided Drafting) and really loved it – I even toured colleges my junior year expecting to be in architecture-engineering, but my greater love was athletics so I decided to exercise science and then go into teaching/coaching.
What is one thing that students don’t know about you?
I was born in New Mexico and lived there until 3rd grade
