In the heart of Farmington, Connecticut, there’s a hidden gem that’s quickly become a local favorite by many: Hartford Baking Company (HBC). Established in 2022, HBC provides customers with top-notch baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From its humble beginnings with just one baker and a mission to create something extraordinary, HBC has grown into a beloved bakery with over 50 employees. Scott Kluger, owner of HBC elaborated on the origin.
“We started with one baker, four baristas, and a mission – to give our hometown a great bakery, and make the greatest products we possibly could. We wanted to attach the Hartford area’s name to something superlative and create something the community would be proud of.”
The inviting atmosphere, complete with natural sunlight and greenery, sets the stage for a relaxing and enjoyable breakfast or lunch experience. The upstairs seating is perfect for enjoying a cozy meal or catching up with friends over a cup of locally roasted coffee.
But it’s the food at HBC that truly steals the show. From the gooey sourdough grilled cheese, to the light and flavorful avocado wrap, every bite is a delight.
“Our philosophy is simple: we use the finest flours, quality butter, and European chocolates we can get our hands on. During the growing season, the selection in our pastry case is determined not by our bakers, but by the local farms we partner with for their amazing fruits and vegetables” Kluger adds.
What sets HBC apart is their commitment to using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients in their products.
“Unbleached flours and preservative-free ingredients are essential to our values and we pride ourselves on doing things the hard way – valuing taste, texture, and process above all else” Kluger emphasized.
In a world where convenience often overpowers quality, Hartford Baking Company stands out with its authenticity and excellence. With its welcoming environment, mouthwatering menu, and commitment to using fresh ingredients, HBC is more than just a bakery—it’s a taste of home in the heart of Farmington, Connecticut.
